Make Your New Year’s Resolution to #expandEDin2012

Twitter search pageJess TonnEarlier this week, Susan published a blog post explaining “why longer school days are vital.” When she and I put our heads together, we found that it took us no time to come up with more than a dozen reasons to expand education, in 140 characters or less.

That’s how a Twitter campaign was born.

If you believe that to close the achievement gap in this country we’ve got to close the opportunity gap, we invite you to Tweet, Facebook, blog or otherwise tell us why you believe our nation should #expandEDin2012. How should we expand education in places that are struggling to deliver on the promise of public schools – and why? This list should help you get you started.

At the end of the month, we’ll put all the posts into a Storify page and publish it on this blog. We’ll kick off 2012 with a reminder for why #expandEDin2012 should be at the top of our national New Year’s resolution list.

What do you say?
